Established in 1935, King Cole is a family business, driven by strong traditional values and a passion and dedication to the knitting industry. A move to their new premises in 2014 helped King Cole consolidate their position as one of the best stocked suppliers in their field, offering an ever increasing range of yarn, pattern designs and knitting books.
Blue Digital was approached by King Cole to give the previous website a new more modern look, incorporating their new branding. The site had to be visually pleasing with high-quality imagery, be an excellent online window to their vast range of products and be easy to update with new product ranges.
A Tight Knit Website
After sitting down with King Cole, it became clear that they had strong visions in mind. They wanted a brochure-style website that worked for three different market sectors, retailers, distributors and end users, so of course, we got to work. We mixed the brochure style with a clean-cut design to modernise and create a professional look and feel. The easy navigation means users can engage with the site to find their nearest King Cole retailer, and the open design means this can be adapted to provide international coverage and contact in the future.
King Cole were inundated with positive feedback when the site was launched and the surge in enquiries resulted in them having to dedicate people to the phones to answer the increased volume of enquiries. Blue Digital reacted quickly to this by automating some of the process via the website to reduce the admin overhead at King Cole whilst still allowing end-users to quickly receive information as to where they could purchase King Cole products. Due to the open nature of the solution the website is constantly evolving and has recent undergone changes to help them attract retailers in international markets.
