At the start of the year the LEP launched a grant scheme to encourage businesses to invest in a digital transformation. This meant businesses based in the Leeds city areas could apply for 40% funding of any digital investment of up to £12,500. (maximum grant of £5,000)
Since the launch, the Digital Enterprise invest in digital schemes has been inundated with applications, over 330 within 6 weeks, which has meant they have had to temporarily suspend the scheme.
The funding applications were paused as of 24th March @ 17:00 so that over the next 12 weeks the team at digital enterprise headquarters can work through the back log of applicants.
(Please note – anybody that has applied before the cut of date will be processed as normal. )
This however doesn’t mean you have missed out. Muz, the programme’s manager said, “There is no need to panic, the scheme will be re-opening in June”.
So, if you are still looking to apply for a free £5,000 then make sure you are ready in June when the programme re-opens. The re-opening also coincides with the launch of digital knowledge exchange service which will include:
- Business Management & Digital Workshops,
- Masterclasses on business growth amongst other things,
- Mentoring support.
